Products of the Year: Christmas Gift Guide 2009

It's here: our guide to the products of the year is the summary of what our lab has been up to over the past year.  We've tested over 500 products, from TVs to digital cameras, from computers to mobile phones and a lot else besides.  But which ones are the best?  What do our specialists recommend, and why?

In every area, we've picked out a clear favourite--a great all-rounder--and then some alternatives: a cheaper option, or one that's a little bit more energy-efficient, or a pricier, but more powerful model.  We don't get technical--there's just solid, practical advice.  This year, we've added a series of icons to help you find your way around, and, of course, there are links to our full tests so you can find out more.
