We've updated the way give scores to processors in our CPU reviews. As a result, several models have lost one or even two stars!
The updated scoring system is similar to the one we use for graphics cards. From now on, the score for 'performance with applications' is calculated automatically in relation to the results obtained by the fastest processor we've reviewed so far. The major advantage of this system is that the 'performance with applications' score—and therefore also the overall score— of each model will be automatically recalculated if we review a new ultra-fast CPU. A five-star product therefore won't necessarily stay a five-star product for ever!

There's now a link to the performance index table in each CPU review.
Click on the link to expand the table and compare and contrast processors based on their average scores.

Performance Index Table
We've also decided to add the CPU performance index table to all our processor reviews. That means you no longer have to go to a separate page of the site to view processor performances at a glance. An average score is given to each CPU to make it quick and easy to compare models in the index table. Don't forget that you can still compare processors in greater detail in the processor Face-Off.
