This 4-in-1 colour inkjet, on sale for £96, is identical to the Canon Pixma MX360, but with Wi-Fi, Ethernet and a larger colour screen (6.2 cm). It also exists in a Wi-Fi only version, the Pixma MX410 (ADD LINK).

For more details read the test for the Canon Pixma MX360 (ADD LINK).

  • Fax, copier, scanner
  • Wi-Fi, Ethernet
  • Cost per page with XL cartridges: 12.2 pence
  • Good quality office doc prints
  • Low energy consumption

  • No double sided
  • Colour mono-cartridge
  • Loader capacity limited to 100 pages
  • No touch screen

The Canon Pixma MX420 will suit those looking for a cheap all-round multifunction printer. While this is a 4-in-1 printer, the fact that it's an entry-level machine means certain features such as double-sided printing are missing and the quality of photo prints won't be good enough for more demanding users. It will, nevertheless, make a good fall-back solution.
