Back in March we reported the launch of PowerDVD 10. Since then, we've had a go at using the software and we had a few problems with the 2D-3D conversion function on a computer with an Nvidia GTX295 graphics card. Last night, I think I finally found a solution. First of all, let me describe the problem. Each time I launched the 2D-to-3D conversion of a 'standard' 2D DVD, one of the lenses of the Nvidia 3DVision glasses stayed black and the picture wasn't displayed in 3D. After switching the function on and off a few times, I had to finally admit that it just wasn't working.
The solution
For the conversion function to work, you have to deactivate the multi-GPU management function in the Nvidia control panel. Go to 3D Settings then Set Multi-GPU and PhysX Configuration. Then choose Do Not Use Multiple GPU Mode. Confirm your choice, re-start PowerDVD 10 and then the 2D-to-3D conversion should work just fine!
