The new Porsche 918 Spyder, first hybrid supercar from Porsche, is the star of the latest video of the new NFS opus. Need for Speed Hot Pursuit is getting its engine roaring on the starting line ready for the 18th November launch. We've been getting the driving seat ready!
In 1998, Need for Speed 3: Hot Pursuit was the first racing game in the series to include police car chases. A real graphics coup at the time, I can still recall the devilish sessions when my adversaries - 17-inch cathode ray split screen - tried to outdo me, viciously positioning their craftiest traps to stop me at any price.
The new title aims to repeat the pleasures of the past, where nothing is guaranteed and the game isn't over until you've crossed the finishing line. Developed by Criterion, who were behind the Burnout game on consoles, Need for Speed Hot Pursuit doesn't hide its similarities, with a similar graphical style, relatively similar physical behaviour of vehicles and, above all, the well-known slow motions and spectacular accidents.
For those nostalgic for the 90s or those who never had the chance to play NFS 3, here's a video of the game. Graphics of the time!
