The one and only Lady Gaga showed up at the CES 2011 in Las Vegas to give Polaroid a helping hand presenting its new range of products. She unveiled a prototype pair of shades with a built-in camera and twin OLED screens, as well as a slightly more mainstream wireless printer and digital camera with built-in printing system.

The GL20 glasses are still just a prototype but the GL10 printer and GL30 camera will be coming very, very soon and we can't wait to get our hands on them!

The GL30 camera could be just the thing for professionals who haven't found a decent replacement for the original Polaroid cameras, as for people such as location scouts, estate agents, or those in the fashion industry, it can be very handy to point, shoot and print straight away. Other users just like the distinctive look of a Polaroid picture and will be more than happy to go back to the old-school snapping system.

We managed to have a closer look at the Polaroid GL10 wireless mini-printer, which is compatible with most smartphones except the iPhone, as Lady Gaga explained over the shouts and screams of her crowd of fans (the CES is a magnet for geeks, don't forget!). Basically, Apple's iPhone isn't compatible with Polaroid's devices due to its lack of Bluetooth connectivity.

Two things came to light when we saw the GL10 in action. First of all, for shots taken with digital cameras, the results are superb! A professional photographer hired by Polaroid printed out around a dozen pictures in a demonstration, all of which looked fantastic. The GL10 really is a million miles from the dubious Polaroid Pogo printer that we'd all just rather forget. However, the second thing we noticed was that when printing shots captured with a smartphone, the results weren't so great. In fact, the snaps looked blurred and the colours weren't as good.

Here's a quick video of the GL10 printer in action:
