Pentax recently unveiled two new compact digital cameras, the RZ10 and RS1000 at Photokina.  We had the chance to watch a demo of a new feature that's making its debut on the latter: custom skins.

The front of the camera is made up of a thick piece of paper, with holes pre-cut for the lens, the flash and the screws.  You can then use four screws to add a plexiglass panel which holds the skin in place and protects it.  Changing the design is incredibly simple, and you can also choose to add the cover with nothing underneath, leaving the black finish of the camera body visible.

The reverse side and the controls are less out of the ordinary, and much more like the brand's other recent offerings.
