Panasonic: 3D plasma TVs by spring 2010

Last week's CES show in Las Vegas was a chance for more than one manufacturer to unveil 3D TVS.  After months of announcements and suspense, Panasonic finally unveiled its own 3D plasmas, the VT25 series.

Panasonic's first 3D-compatible televisions will be the VT25 family, which will use Infinite Black Pro plasma displays, with a contrast ratio of 5 000 000:1 (that's five million to one if you don't want to count the zeros).  Skype videoconferencing will be included in some models, but we're not sure if it will be available everywhere.  Another built-in service, video-on-demand from Netflix, is only offered in the US.
Apart from the 3D, the other specs reprise the best of what we saw on Panasonic's TVs last year: Internet connectivity for accessing online content, motion control, THX certification and more …

Glasses: one pair free

The new TVs will only come with a single pair of 3D glasses, so you'll have to shell out if you want to kit the family out.  Unless you want to have several showings one after the other, you might have to fork out quite a lot for the extra kit …

Mystery still surrounds the launch date and pricing for these new TVs.  All we do know is that they'll be available by spring 2010.  The sizes promised are all huge: 50'', 54'', 58'' and 65'', and the price tags could well match …
