Following the recent drop in sales of the Pre in the US, Palm has reduced the production levels of its mobile phone, which many say is the manufacturer's last real chance.Although the Pre was widely welcomed by the press, especially because of the in-house WebOS software, and sales began well in America, things began to turn around in July, counteracting the initial strong sales.
According to analysts MorgaN Joseph, while June saw almost 200 000 units sold, July would only see half of that.
Unfortunately, Palm's difficulties in bringing the Pre to the market in other countries doesn't make things any better. The clock is still ticking for the manufacturer in this very difficult financial climate.
