Pierre Caillaud, one of our colleagues from Japan who was taking us on a guided visit of Tokyo wanted to know if we knew what was going on here ...
It's an outdoor wireless access point, sponsored by Nintendo. There's a bench round the outside, and it's usually full of enthusiastic gamers, often deep in concentration. They're available all over the city, and all you need to do is bring your DS and you can sit down, join the network and start playing.
There are plenty of people who spend all day there ...
