Only in Tokyo, Part 19: HD TV and Free Wi-Fi in the Hotel

The TVs you typically find in hotel rooms in the Europe are not exactly known for being the latest cutting-edge models!

To cut costs, hotels usually pick TN-panel TVs from a brand you've never even heard of. They're rarely Full HD, have strange resolutions and are usually bombarded with all kinds of inputs. Add to that massive, low-rate interpolation, colours that aren't set up properly and tight viewing angles and ... need I continue?

In my hotel in Tokyo, I was thrilled to see a Full HD TV, properly set up and complete with HD channels!

Plus, Wi-Fi access in most hotels is generally completely free. And when that's not available, there's a fast (currently 1 Gbps) and low-priced Ethernet connection.
