During a trip to China, the firm's boss Stephen Elop confirmed that the first Windows Phone from Nokia will be available at the end of 2011 and not at the start of 2012 as previously planned. Although the first handsets will be unveiled this year-probably at the Nokia World event in October-mass production won't ramp up until 2012.
Elop has also confirmed that he sees an independent future for Nokia, dismissing rumours that the firm may eventually be bought up by Microsoft.
