Nokia is recalling 14 million mobile phone chargers which could have a dangerous fault.  Manufactured by a Chinese sub-contractor, BYD, on behalf of the Finnish brand, the faulty chargers could produce electric shocks.

In a press release yesterday, the world's leading mobile phone manufacturer said that no incidents have yet been reported.

The following models are affected:
  • model numbers AC-3E and AC-3U, produced between 15 June and 9 August this year
  • model number AC-4U, produced between 13 April and 25 October 2009.
Nokia has launched an exchange programme to supply replacement models to any effected customers.
