Nokia N8: pre-orders arriving October

Yes, again. Announced several months back, expected in the summer, presented (again) last week at Nokia World, deliveries for pre-orders for the flagship multimedia smartphone from the Finish manufacturer have been pushed back.


Decidedly, times are hard for Nokia. Or are they? Its new smartphones were presented with a good deal of confidence in London last week. And it certainly is urgent for the world no.1 to start to make moves (finally) in the remunerative smartphone sector. No one can say that the company is currently giving sleepless nights to the competition (HTC and Samsung, with their Android-based phones, and Apple). However the level of take-up for pre-orders of the N8 in the UK even seem to have surprised Nokia themselves (which would explain the delay?).

You can currently pre-order the N8 at a sim-free price of around £430. O2, Vodafone and T-Mobile are all offering it free on a £35/month two-year deal.
