Bad news for anyone hoping to use their PS3 to play in Full HD 3D. Sony announced yesterday that you'll have to make do with 720p.
The problem apparently comes from the fact than the HDMI 1.4 standard is incapable of more than 24 frames per second in 1080p 3D and this apparently creates fluidity problems. The Japanese manufacturer has however said that the difference is almost invisible.
Note that there has been a solution in existence for some time that allows Full HD 3D gaming: the NVIDIA 3D vision kit coupled with an Nvidia graphics card and a 120 Hz screen.
