Lenovo and MSI are sharing the spotlight today. The former is back with the second version of its standard S10 netbook, while the latter has brought us a more unusual computer that managed to loop video for almost ten hours in our battery life tests! The Lenovo S10-2 is the little brother of the S10 that we tested back in January. With a 10'' screen, a 160 GB hard drive, Windows XP and 1 GB of RAM, it's perfectly ordinary. And if you like that sort of thing (we certainly don't), it has a glossy screen.
The MSI Wind U115 is the first ever hybrid netbook. That means it includes both a traditional magnetic hard drive for storing data and 8 GB of SSD flash memory which holds the operating system. It also includes a super eco mode which is automatically activated when the netbook is running on batteries. This switches over to the SSD and turns off the hard drive, helping it towards those ten hours of battery life.
