3D Realms still going, but not Duke Nukem Forever

In spite of the news of its closure and an explicit message on its website, reports of the death of 3D Realms would seem to have been exagerated.

An anonymous spokesman from the studio says « the studio hasn’t closed and is not about to close ». Rather the developer seems to be restructuring and « now that it has become a small studio will be able to continue creating games based on the Duke Nukem franchise ».

This doesn’t mean that Duke Nukem Forever will be resurrected as the development team was made redundant at the beginning of the month. The 12 years spent on the conception of the game are reported to have cost $20 million, a modest price to pay in the end.
