The video portal YouTube is having real problems on the old continent. After recently removing music videos from its platform in the UK, because of the inability to come an agreement with rights holders, the same situation has come about in Germany. Gema, the German rights organisation, and the Google subsidiary were unable to reach an agreement this week. The contract came to an end at the end of March. Gema was proposing a reevaluation of the license paid by YouTube, who refused it, saying that the sum being asked was "50 times too much".
