Christmas is on its way and there were a few televisions missing from our Product Surveys.  We're catching up today with five new ranges on test, including the long-awaited Panasonic PZ86FV, Samsung A956 and Sony X4500 lines.

Here's the full line-up:
  • Panasonic's Viera PZ86FV series: Full HD plasma screens with a 24p Realo Cinema mode, these TVs are available in 42'' and 46'' versions.
  • Also from Panasonic, the Viera TH-42PX81FV.  A more affordable option, this TV has a 1024 x 768 pixel HD Ready display.  We haven't had a chance to test its 37'' equivalent, which has a slightly different resolution of 1024 x 720 pixels.
  • The Sony Bravia X4500 series is at the very top of the manufacturer's range.  It has LED backlighting, and comes in 46'' and 55'' versions.  Unfortunately, the 40'' X4500 is lit with traditional lamps, not LEDs, so you can't expect the same results from it.
  • LG's sequins-clad LG7500 series was something of a disappointment, with weak performances all round.  If you insist, you can find it in 32'', 37'', 42'' and 47'' vesions.
  • Finally, the Samsung A956 series includes the largest TV in its range--a 55'' model--as well as a smaller 46'' screen.
