When we test monitors, we're nearly always in the 22'' and above range. But we've also decided to take a look at some smaller, more affordable options. But how do the colours, hardware options and response times of these smaller displays with their attractive pricing compare? Have they made as much technical progress as their big brothers? To find out, we decided to try and test some 18'' and 19'' monitors, but strangely enough, not many manufacturers wanted to take part.
We did get some, though:
- The HP v185ws is a 16:9 format that only measures 18.5'', making it handy for those without much space.
- The Iiyama Prolite B1906BS is a 19'' monitor with a 4:3 aspect ratio ideal for working with documents.
- The Samsung SyncMaster LG190G is a 19'' display designed to go with your netbook. It can also be connected over USB, which is handy if you don't have any free video outputs on your graphics card.
