Nokia sues Apple over iPhone patent infringement

There's usually not a lot to say about patent infringement cases, and since a US court tried to ban Microsoft from selling Word, we've been looking for something else to tickle us.  Fortunately, Nokia has ridden to the rescue.

Ever since the first generation of the iPhone, Apple has refused to pay for licences on patents held by Nokia--despite the fact that forty other manufacturers have paid up.

And what are the patents about?  Well, they cover GSM, UMTS and LAN--which allows you to use for phone … for phoning.

Nokia has brought proceedings against Apple in Delaware so we'll have to see what happens next ...
