Full HD Projector Tests: Sony VPL-HW15 and Optoma HD20

Today's head-to-head clash between two projectors never started out on an even playing field.  The main reason is the different prices involved, with Sony's VPL-HW15 projector coming in several thousand pounds ahead of the Optoma HD20.

With the VPL-VW85 and the VPL-HW15, Sony is renewing its high-end projectors, and the latter, which we've tested, replaces the VPL-HW10 and includes a more powerful bulb, although to look at it from the outside, it's hard to see what's changed.

Optoma's very competitively-priced HD20 is a Full HD projector launched in tandem with the HD200X, although the latter is reserved for online distribution, but the model we tested will be available in stores.
