The new LG 47SL8000 is on sale already. It's one of the first TVs to use LG's new 'borderless' design, with a frame reduced to the absolute minimum to make it as invisible as possible.
In practice, though, the frame is still fairly wide and comparable with other makes and models. It does, however, maintain the same dimensions all the way around the screen, without being deeper at the bottom as it often is. The other advantage is that the display and the frame are a single flat surface. That makes for an attractive design that's easy to clean.
Apart from the shape, the main advantage of the 47SL8000 is its Trumotion 200 Hz which minimises ghosting by making the fastest movements more fluid. This version uses neon tubes for backlighting, unlike the SL9000, which uses LEDs instead, but only has Trumotion at 100 Hz.
