Optoma and Epson, both absent from our recent update on the Full HD projector product survey, have caught up with these two models: the HD82 and EH-TW3800.Epson has come out with a projector with a very strong lamp. Its EH-TW3800 has a lamp at 1800 lumens. This has both advantages and disadvantages. The image is visible even when the room is not completely dark. The reverse side is however that the black levels are not as deep as they could be.
Optoma has surprised us with its HD82. This is the first model from the manufacturer that we have tested that has a lens-shift. It also has another card up its sleeve, Pure Motion, the equivalent of the 100 Hz setting on TVs.
