When Apple announced the latest updates to its MacBook laptop, it also unveiled this new Magic Mouse.  The two big changes are a stylish new look and the arrival of multi-touch technology, which replaces the scroll wheel.  No physical buttons are visible from the outside: the whole thing is controlled with your fingertips.

Its predecessor, the Mighty Mouse, certainly wasn't for everybody, but apart from the facelift, why should you switch to the new Magic Mouse?  Honed, curved, thin and as white as you like: everybody agrees that it's a magnificent object.  But that's not we ask for in a mouse: we want it to be accurate and comfortable first of all.  So, can it do the job, or does it just rely on its good looks to turn heads?
