For monitors with a big choice of connections, we often think of Samsung as the top manufacturer. However, in the brand's typically discreet style, Acer has quietly announced two new models that look pretty well equipped.

Acer will be releasing two new Full HD monitors both with 5 ms TN panels. OK, so the TN panel won't exactly have gamers, photo editors or other members of the anti-TN club reaching for their wallets, but for anyone else, the B243H (24'') and B237H (27'') have plenty of good features. Both displays are mounted on height-adjustable stands with rotating bases, and have VGA, DVI and HDMI ports, a pair of 2 x 1.5-watt speakers and a 4-port USB hub.

With spec like this, these monitors should be great for office computing, web browsing and games that don't require razor-sharp responsiveness (PC games, but also Xbox 360 or Playstation 3). The B243H and B237H could even be used as a second TV, ideal for occasional use.
