Even though it's still under development, everyone seems to be talking about Microsoft's Natal project for controller-free gaming. Although the project has been widely covered in the media, some key facts like the price, the choice of games available or even the release date still remain unknown. The edge-online website, however, seems to have found a reliable source to help fill in some of these blanks.
According to edge-online's source, the Natal will be sold in two different packs, available alone for $149 or with the Xbox 360 Arcade for $299. However, there's word on whether either pack will be bundled with any games.
Although no games have been mentioned by name, rumour has it that the Natal is likely to be aimed at occasional gamers and families. It's therefore safe to say we can expect something resembling Nintendo's Wii.
The strangest piece of information the source let slip though, is that although the Natal is already known and even awaited by users, its name could still change. The product's final name will be unveiled by Microsoft at the E3 international gaming show next month.
Finally, the source also gave a provisional release date of 26 October 2010, which seems logical enough as it's quite close to Christmas, the typical time of year for releasing products like this.
Microsoft wouldn't comment on any of the information cited by the mystery source, so I guess we'll just have to wait until the Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) to find out more.
