Amongst the twelve light bulbs that we published over the weekend, we had one mystery LED lamp from Philips.  We couldn't find out anything about it, so we had to go on the information on the packaging and a few details engraved on the side.

But we know more now.  Philips' press team got in touch to give us some more information and we can now reveal the identity of the mystery bulb.  It's a MyAmbiance Reflector, and the exact reference is as follows:

LED MA Reflector 7W/50W E27 827 230V 25D 1PP/6 (phew!)

Let's take a look at just what that means:

  • LED: that's the easy part: this is an LED lamp, after all
  • MA: the MyAmbiance range
  • Reflector: type of bulb
  • 7W: power consumption
  • 50W: the equivalent incandescent bulb that would be required to produce this much light
  • E27: fitting
  • 827: the first number indicates a minimum IRC of 80, while the second and third digits indicate a colour temperature of 2700 K
  • 230 V: voltage
  • 25D: the area illuminated: 25°
  • 1PP/6: you get one in a pack, and six packs fill one box!

And because publishing thirteen tests at once would be just too unlucky, we have added the Econergyworld Globe 6 W E50 which we missed out at the weekend!  And although it's the last LED lamp (for the time being) it's by no means the least.  It's well worth a look.
