Samsung galaxy s2Samsung won't be showing off the Galaxy S III at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona at the end of February.

We already knew that Samsung would be making a more low-key appearance than previous years at MWC 2012. Even though the manufacturer will be presenting some new products—the Galaxy S Advance, for example—the upcoming flagship Galaxy smartphone, the S III, won't be unveiled at this year's event. The S III will instead be presented at a special event in the spring, just a few months ahead of its release in June.

This decision means that the phone's release won't fell like it comes an eternity after its presentation. It'll also mean that Samsung will be in the press, grabbing headlines around the same time that Apple is expected to unveil a new iPhone.

Samsung hasn't let slip any tech specs for the S III, but rumours point to a 4.6-inch screen and a 12-Megapixel camera. It's also due to launch with Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich).
