The Samsung Media Studio is the software that comes with this player enabling easier file transfer. You have the option of not using it given that the YP-T10 is recognized as an external storage device. We preferred to do without it.
The first reason is that with each transfer or deletion it has the annoying habit of asking you to close the Windows media player. Second, was that this program does not indicate how much space is occupied on the player.
Finally, we had no idea why our WAV files didn't appear in the library. It is therefore impossible to transfer these files without first converting them. This is all the more strange that Samsung Media Studio can rip audio CDs and encode them in MP3 or WMA. In short, an external audio converter is necessary which is a real inconvenience.
The T10 is a portable player with a very attractive design and part of Samsung's new line. Touted as light and compact (43g for a thickness of 7.8 mm), it has a record autonomy of 30 hours and Bluetooth 2.0. Available in 2, 4 or 8 GB versions will the Samsung T10 be able to win over fans of the iPod Nano?
The packaging is rather nice, and although of no real use, the nice presentation is still appreciable. Once taken out of its box, the T10 reveals a very attractive design. Of course, there is the black lacquer finish so popular in current MP3 players and which is sensitive to finger smudges. Nevertheless, Samsung had the good idea of adding a very discreet plastic film protecting it from scratches. The plastic on the back is not nearly as attractive and it's unfortunate that there is no carry pouch.
Once started up, there is a new and innovative menu. We've never seen anything as original and everyone in our office was really impressed. If this isn't the case for you, there is the option of going back to a more classic format. Navigation is done via nice tactile buttons that go well with the T10's design. It's a pleasure to surf through this player's menus. The 2 inch screen is also a part of this comfort being very bright, with good definition and with deep black colors. In this last domain, it's simply the current best on the market.
There was one thing lacking in menus. Small Flash games were announced on Samsung's website but this is unfortunately (still?) not the case.
Sound quality is also good
In this area, there are also some interesting functions. There is for example Street and Sharpness functions which accentuate some frequency ranges depending on your environment. Moreover, these proved to be rather efficient. For the rest, we have nothing bad to say about audio capabilities other than this player is quite simply excellent. Sound is clear, basses are deep, and frequency ranges are distinct. There is only a slight lack of strength in volume. Finally, we were even impressed by the T10's standard earphones, which although they lack a little intensity in basses, are of high quality.
