This player, with 16 GB of memory, is a version of the Samsung Q2 8GB that we tested.

Otherwise, its characteristics are entirely identical, and you can expect to find similar results with this product.  Only battery life may vary slightly, but the differences aren't significant enough to affect our tests or the scores we give.

We've been able to confirm this both with our own tests and with assurances from manufacturers.
3/5 Samsung YP-Q2 16 GB DigitalVersus 2009-08-12 00:00:00

Pros

  • Good quality sound
  • FM tuner with RDS
  • UMS available

Cons

  • Touchscreen controls turn off during playback
  • Have to re-encode video
  • Impossible to actually switch it off
  • Low battery life

Conclusion

It's difficult to find any arguments in favour of the Q2. It does just about everything its big brother the P3 can do, just less well.

OUR SCORE 3/5
