The first version of the BlackBerry Bold soon became a reference to which we compared other business-orientated smartphones.  One year on, RIM has revamped it with the new Bold 9700.

Along the way, the manufacturer hasn't hesitated to borrow features from its more mass-market smartphones and adapt them for this more professional handset.  Is the combination of the two categories a good idea though?
