Just unveiled at CES, the new Sony Xperia S is an Android 2.3 smartphone with a HD display, boasting a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels. It's one of the first mobiles to come from the firm now it's going it alone without Ericsson.
It also has a 12 Megapixel camera, but this time it doesn't come from Sharp but Sony itself and so won't have any stabilisation.
It's expected to launch in the first quarter of this year, and while it will be running Gingerbread, the hardware looks powerful enough for a later upgrade to Ice Cream Sandwich later.
