Samsung has announced the upcoming release of a replacement for the Galaxy Ace—the Galaxy Ace Plus—although release dates and prices are still to be finalised.

The South Korean manufacturer likes to make the most out of its successful product lines, especially the ever-popular Galaxy range. So as not to shake things up too much in 2012, the Galaxy Ace Plus has almost exactly the same sleek, understated design as the iPhone 3GS original Galaxy Ace but with boosted performances on the inside.

The slightly larger 3.6-inch TNF screen has a resolution of 480 x 320 pixels. The Galaxy Ace Plus also boasts a 1 Ghz processor, a 5-Megapixel camera with LED flash, a 3 GB internal memory and a 1300 mAh battery. The Galaxy Ace Plus runs on Android 2.3 (Gingerbread) with Samsung's TouchWiz interface.

The handset weighs 115 g and measures 114.7 x 62.5 x 11.2 mm.

Prices and release dates are still to be confirmed.
