Today Samsung bet its money on the prospects of an open, customisable ecosystem by revealing the source code for its Galaxy Note 2 smartphone/tablet hybrid.

Samsung has gone public with the source code (GT-N7100) to its XXL-sized Android Jelly Bean smartphone, the Galaxy Note 2. It's the same strategy the company used when it revealed the source code to the Galaxy S3 shortly after its release last May. Available at the brand's Open Source Release Center, the code gives modders the ability to take full control of their device and personalise it by removing features they don't want and developing their own ROMs.

Stay tuned for our full review of the Samsung Galaxy Note 2, coming this Thursday!
