Samsung Galaxy Nexus: I Can't Hear You!

Samsung galaxy nexus demain 19 octobre n21606Just a week after going on sale in the UK, there have been reports of sudden volume changes on the new Samsung Galaxy Nexus.

It's the first mobile to run the latest version of Android, Ice Cream Sandwich, and is seen by many as the smartphone to have this Christmas.  Except now there's a hitch.  Some of the lucky few who have already got their hands on one have complained that the volume suddenly plunges during phone calls or while listening to music.  Others report the volume suddenly returning to very loud levels at random moments.

They went straight to Samsung's Facebook page to complain, but the firm's only official response so far has been to acknowledge that it's aware of the issue and is working on a fix.

The problem seems very widespread, and appears to occur when users are using Edge or GSM networks in an area which only has 2G coverage, which happens whenever there is no 3G coverage.

For the time being, we don't know whether it's a hardware or a software problem, although we're obviously hoping it's the latter as this will be much easier to fix.

After Apple's teething problems with battery life on the iPhone 4S, it's now up to Samsung and Galaxy to fix things before the Galaxy Nexus goes on sale anywhere else.
