According to analysis from Kantar Worldpanel ComTech, Apple has lost market share in France and Germany, particularly with its new iPhone but is however doing very well in the UK.

Smartphone sales analysis from Kantar Worldpanel ComTech shows that iPhone sales aren't doing all that well in Europe, particularly in France and Germany. Between the beginning of September and the end of November, 61% of smartphone market share went to handsets running on Android, with the Samsung Galaxy S II swelling the figures.

In the UK, Australia and the United States however, the new iPhone sold very well over the last few months, making up for the poor sales earlier in 2011. In the UK, the iPhone has snaffled a market share of 31% over these three months, up from just 21.4% over the same period last year.

According to Reuters, which reports these figures, the economic crisis and competitor brands offering much cheaper solutions than the iPhone are working to Apple's disadvantage. In France in particular and the Eurozone in general, smartphone consumers are reported to be increasingly sensitive to price.
