At Barcelona's Mobile World Congress at the start of the year, HTC brought its big guns out with the Legend, HD Mini and Desire.  Each one is fighting it out in a slightly different corner of the mobile arena, but all promise to be tough contenders.

We've seen two so far, and here's the third.  The HTC Desire is the manufactuer's top-of-the-range handset, and is very close to the Google Nexus One and an Android counterweight to the HD2.  Unlike the Legend, it has a fairly neutral exterior, but don't be deceived by appearances ...

A quick word about the Vivaz

While we're launching this test, we should also mention the Vivaz.  We promised we'd test it, and we have done in fact.  But for a phone that Sony-Ericsson is pushing as a rival to pocket camcorders, it performed particularly badly in our photo and video tests.  We were even more surprised because a couple of other units that we tried at the launch seemed to do much better than the one that Sony sent us.  We're looking into the situation, so we're afraid you'll have to wait a little while before you get the full test.
