LG announces the 'first truly HD' smartphone (720p)

The Spectrum has a 4.5-inch IPS screen with a pixel density of 326 dpi, which makes for a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels. It runs on a 1.5 GHz dual-core processor from Qualcomm.

The Spectrum has an 8-Megapixel camera, which is good, but while it's certainly up there with the best handsets currently on the market, we'll hopefully soon be seeing phones with 12-Megapixel sensors and stabilisation systems, possibly using the mobile camera unit recently developed by Sharp.
