Over the last few weeks, rumours have been mounting about a possible comeback for Bill Gates as top dog at Microsoft ... a bit like Steve Jobs' comeback to Apple in 1997.
With the firm's share prices not looking as buoyant as they could be, Bill Gates was rumoured to be ready to step back into the driving seat to save the day.
However, Bill Gates has quashed all such rumours. He is apparently far too busy working with the charitable foundation he set up in partnership with his wife Melinda, and has no intention of returning to Microsoft or doing anything else for the time being.
