Greener Packaging But No Software

The good news is that Verbatim's new memory card packaging uses around 90% less plastic than previous generations of products.

The bad news is that Verbatim doesn't include any data recovery software, either on the card, in the box or on the manufacturer's website. You'd therefore better make sure you don't delete any important files by accident!

This Verbatim HD Video SDHC card has been designed for use with HD camcorders. Class 6 accreditation should guarantee a minimum write speed of 6 MBps, which Verbatim assures us is ideal for use with the latest HD camcorders.

Fast enough for video

According to our tests, this memory card is slightly faster than the speeds announced. Write speeds reach 15 MBps, which means it'll take just under 4 minutes 20 seconds to copy 4 GB of photos onto the card. That's nothing particularly impressive, but it's still sufficient for consumer devices. With the read speed measured at 23.3 MBps, you can count just under 3 minutes to unload a full memory card.
