Media Centre Review: Toshiba Places STB2F, With Record Function!

Note that Toshiba Places media centres are currently only available in France. Toshiba is due to start integrating its 'Places' platform into UK TV models this year, and has hinted that it may branch out into media centres or set-top-boxes if trials prove successful. The main issue we had with the Toshiba Places STB1F was that no feature was included for recording digital programmes. This has now been introduced with the STB2F.

After a first less-than convincing attempt, Toshiba is back with the Places STB2F media centre, equipped this time with a digital recording feature. So is this a fuller, corrected version of the STB1F? That's what we're hoping, especially as the TV interface impressed us on the first version.
