UPDATE: our full review of the Logitech G700 has now been published
While other sites may be merely announcing Logitech's brand new G700 gaming mouse today, here at DigitalVersus we've already got our hands on it and we're testing it right now! So how did we manage to get it so quickly? Let me explain ...
[Cue hazy flashback waves]
In a stylish bar in some far-flung corner of the world, we were heading over to order ourselves another round of Cuba Libres when, what do we see laying forgotten and unloved on the bar, but a strange looking black computer mouse. With hearts racing fast we instantly knew that some high-flying test engineer, probably from Japan, must have accidentally forgotten this high-end wireless gamer mouse, intriguingly stamped with logo of Swiss manufacturer, Logitech. Why, it must be the new Logitech G700, we said to ourselves. After casually asking around the bar if anyone had lost a mouse (admittedly, not in a very loud voice) we legged it, mouse in pocket, all the way back to our test lab ... ahem!
So here it is, the Logitech G700. It has a matte black finish with a slightly textured surface on the sides. This is a welcome change from the seriously dodgy colours of the G7 mouse it's designed to replace (released all the way back in 2005).
Were' not huge fans of those big plastic buttons though. Were they really necessary? Couldn't they have been a little sleeker?
Anyway, we're currently in the process of testing the Logitech G700 so stay tuned for our full product review this afternoon.
