Just like other leading manufacturers, LG has unveiled plans for something to play Blu-ray 3D discs on so you can get the most out of its 3D TVs.  This one comes with WiFi so you can access online content from YouTube, Picasa and other sites, and you can also connect it to other multimedia devices that are compatible with the DLNA standard or plug in a USB key or external hard drive to watch movies on your TV, with support for MKV and DivX HD files.  It will support BD Live, for which it will need 1 GB of flash memory via the USB port.

LG's latest baby also features 'direct recording', allowing you to copy straight from an audio CD to a USB key.  Unlike Samsung, LG is remaining tight-lipped about how long its new player will take to start up, so we'll have to wait until we can test it to tell you more.
