Dell seems to be hedging its bets when it comes to tablets: as well as the Android-based Dell Streak, information has recently leaked about a new 10.1'' tablet set to run Windows, and perhaps even Windows 8.

A blog called dellpejuinsider has published information leaked by Dell employees, including the first ever pictures of the new tablet.  It looks totally different to the Streak tablets, and it seems that the 10.1'' tablet with a 1920 x 1080 display is aimed at business users with Windows 7 (for the time being at least) and support for a stylus.

The whole thing is set to run on an Intel Core i5 processor, backed up by 64 GB of SSD storage and 4 GB of RAM.  There are USB 2.0 ports, a microSD card slot and a HDMI output.  All told, it's set to weigh more than 800 g.

That's nothing too special, but far more interesting are the rumours that surround potential support for Windows 8 on the Peju, which is set to launch in October.

If it runs the next version of Microsoft's OS, which is set to be designed to perform equally well on the desktop and on mobile devices, then the Peju's hardware suddenly seems a lot more attractive.

The display is protected with the same Corning Gorilla Glass as the Samsung Galaxy S II, making it glare, scratch and shock resistant.  The reverse is finished in aluminium while the outside is trimmed with soft touch rubber.

There are photo and video cameras at the front and back, with 5 Megapixels and 1.3 Megapixels on offer respectively.

Following the current trend, there's also set to be a dock, with a whole range of inputs, including Gigabit Ethernet and three USB 2.0 ports, as well as a HDMI video output and an audio line out.

Now all we need is for Dell to officially acknowledge that the Peju is part of its line up, reveal a few more details and, most importantly, think of a better name ...
