Samsung's reps were only too pleased to see us hovering in the monitor section of the firm's CES stand, as they knew we'd love this new Series 9 monitor. In fact, we've been badgering Samsung to release a PLS-screen monitor for ages!
We've been expecting to see this product for a while. And, as expected, it won't come cheap, with pricing likely to be in the region of £800. After all, it's a top-notch display for image industry professionals ... and for image perfectionists, like us.
This monitor is just known as the 'Series 9' for the moment and uses a PLS panel, which is Samsung's enhanced version of IPS technology. Screen resolution is 2560 x 1440 pixels but that's all Samsung is giving away for the moment.
However, a quick glance at PLS tablet screens should give us an idea of what to expect. We measured a contrast ratio of approximately 900:1 in the Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9, for example.

The product finish is superb!
