CES 2012: Intel Voice and Movement Control Plus Windows 8

At the Intel press event yesterday, we were treated to a demo of Windows 8 on an ultrabook.

Then, devices with varying form factors were presented. Some looked like regular laptops, some had separate keyboards and some had a keyboard that slid up over the screen.

In fact, Intel apparently has 75 different product designs up its sleeve! One particularly surprising model (pictured above) is a prototype called the Intel Nikiski with a transparent touchpad running the whole length of the notebook. This doubles up as a kind of mini-screen so you can see what's going on with the laptop closed.

Intel said that voice controls and a Kinect-style control system could be coming to ultrabooks in the future
 

Intel went on to confirm that in 2012, 50% of ultrabooks would be 14 and 15'' models.

With more information on these new and improved ultrabooks due around April 2012, this new-generation of products could possibly be due to follow not long after.
