On the go

The Targus Rolling Backpack has wheels so you can pull out the handle and roll ahead. The Combinaison Case is not a trolley, but on the bright side, there is no handle to weigh the case down (so it is one kilo less) and it is more comfortable since there is no handle rubbing into your back.

Targus has created a 2-in-1 laptop case with a difference. It does not have the sort of high-school design with two huge pockets and a base that is wider than it is high. Despite its 13 compartments and pockets, the combination case has a long rectangular shape that gives it an executive feel.

Yes it is a backpack though the name does not give it away.

The back straps are convenient to keep your hands free. If you need to look like a pro on a business trip, you can always put them away and use the two handles. The backpack then becomes an almost traditional briefcase except for the fact that it's higher and less wide. The case has compartments for your mobile essentials and miscellaneous items, but as you can see from the video we chose to demonstrate with flat items.

Flexibility, storage and notebook protection.

There is a removable padded notebook slipcase for the computer that can be used separately.

The removable  slipcase is a good idea all the more that it has a handle and strap in order to be used on its own. On an airplane, you can just put the bigger case above your head and keep the necessary items within reach.

On close inspection, the high quality nylon has a good finish and is sturdy. Is the case stylish though? Maybe not, but that is really a matter of taste….

Unfortunately the case cannot stand upright on its own and when you put it on the floor, it is likely to tip over. The base is not stiff enough and this also means that the computer is not that well protected from underneath; careful when putting the bag down.

The handle turns it into a case.

It is padded but could still be reinforced.

The straps are comfortable.
Close up on the sturdy nylon.

We recommend this sturdy 2-in-1 notebook case with loads of compartments, cases and pockets. We just regret that it does not stand upright on its own. Also there could have been reinforced protection on the lower side to keep the laptop safe.
