LaCie, well known in the world of storage, announced last night that it now holds an 11.17% stake in Loewe, a prestigious home entertainment company.

Philippe Spruch, DG of the French group specialised in storage, declared, 'We admire Loewe's expertise. They have developed the best televisions in the world. Our technologies are complementary and unique in Europe and this is the ideal time to bring together German TVs, French storage and Swiss cloud computing'.

With its 11.17% stake, LaCie becomes the second largest shareholder behind Sharp, which holds 29% of the capital. It therefore wouldn't be a surprise to see LaCie products, such as the online storage system, Wuala, starting to appear in Loewe products.
