A spillproof keyboard

This might be the best feature of the keyboard: Logitech says it is protected against the small accidents of daily life. Of course you are not meant to take a bath with it, but it will survive a few splashes.

This entry-level wireless option from Logitech comes with a wireless mouse, but perhaps the most intriguing feature is that it's water-resistant.
The keys themselves are deep and spread out over a large area on this keyboard. Logitech describes this as a 'quiet' keyboard, but we think it would be fairer to say 'relatively quiet'. It's certainly not the noisiest keyboard in this price range, at least. When you type there is a dry, clicking sound as you press each key, which is not necessarily any worse than the low thud you hear on other keyboards. The space bar produces something of a click as it springs back, but that is quite common on keyboards at this level.
Typing is perfectly reasonable, but hardly life-changing. Like laptop keyboards, there are a number of shortcuts picked out in blue on the other keys that you can activate using the Fn button. The usual options (volume control, launching applications ...) are there, and you can programme some of your own. It's a cheap and easy way of adding hotkeys, but it works well.

Mouse
The mouse is rather basic. Its only distinguishing feature is a resolution of 1000 dpi. By default, the pointer will be 25% faster than that of a traditional mouse (800 dpi). This is useful if you're working on a large display, but it may at first come as something as a surprise if you're not used to it. It's a step in the right direction on Logitech's part, but it won't replace our favourite 1200 dpi and 1600 dpi mice. Finally, it's worth nothing that as this is an optical mouse, it'll work better on a pad than on irregular or glossy surfaces.
